Walking is one of the best ways to look after our mental health. Particularly during the winter when our mental health can take a hit thanks to the lack of sunlight, and this winter with the lockdown once again rolled out over the UK getting out and about is an important way to stay physically active as well as keeping yourself mentally well.
So, this winter there has been no better time to get out and about and explore the beautiful countryside on offer. Visit Shamrock Gift for cosy Aran sweaters, and get out and explore the beauty of nature at one of these places…
Waterfall Country in Powys – This is an area that is truly magical in all seasons. In the winter see the twinkling frost upon the stones, and when it is particularly chilly small ice crystals form around the falls. Walk around the many falls before coming to the most spectacular of them all Sgwd yr Eira – or fall of snow.
Latterbarrow in the Lake District – This is a fantastic place to explore in the winter – the peak is 244 metres high but can be completed in a couple of hours which makes it an easy walk to do in a day, and gives you plenty of time to enjoy the views from the summit of the village of Hawkshead below as well as the beautiful countryside of the surrounding lakes.
