Are Workout Apps Advertised on Instagram Even Worth Downloading?

Read Time:4 Minute, 48 Second

These days, browsing Instagram means being bombarded with adverts that have been individually chosen based on the material you connect with. Workout app ads are a common form of Instagram ad that everyone sees (especially around certain times of the year). Ads might often be tempting (after all, that is their aim), especially if you are feeling vulnerable or curious, or you can just indulge in games from online casino Australia. This is the guide you’ve been looking for if you’ve been wondering whether certain fitness applications offered on Instagram are worth it. Are these apps scams, or are they legit? After trying and testing three workout apps commonly advertised on Instagram, we’ve got the verdict. StretchIt If you’ve watched Instagram videos about improving your flexibility, you’ve probably seen the StretchIt ads on your feed. Yet, adverts that promise results in a set amount of time often ring alarm bells. To use the StretchIt app, you must first complete a comprehensive questionnaire. However, the questions appear to be important to select the best stretches for you in general. As with Everdance, there is a gender question with only three options that you cannot skip. The app also asks for your weight, but it’s unclear why this is important or required. These detailed questions are “required” to create a personalized program for you. StretchIt, fortunately, provides a free trial with expiration reminders, allowing you to make the most of the first seven days before committing to a membership. Once you’re set-up, it’ll be simple to select a class that matches you. StretchIt can assist you here, or you can simply browse the many different classes available, and you can indulge in some games from nz online casinos on your break. Is StretchIt Worth Downloading? When put to the test, the StretchIt app appears to be reliable. The classes are well-taught, and the videos are of high quality. It’s also simple to customize your classes and programs to your ability level, with helpful images displaying what a true beginner, intermediate, or expert can do. You can also access your account and workout videos on the StretchIt website if you prefer a larger screen. All of these benefits make the StretchIt app worthwhile. Try the seven-day free trial and decide for yourself. Alive by Whitney Simmons Whitney Simmons, a worldwide Gymshark brand ambassador and mental health advocate, created Alive, a fitness and wellness app aimed at women who want to “shape the best versions of themselves mentally and physically.” Influencer-created applications, on the other hand, raise concerns about whether the content provided is genuine or merely a marketing tool. The Alive app provides workout programs and daily workouts in a user-friendly design. Following a free trial, there are two major subscriptions to choose from: Alive at Home for those who like to strength train at home, and Alive Inside for HIIT workouts. If you like a structured plan, there are 12 different workout programs to choose from. Otherwise, you can select from over 100 workouts divided into recognized categories (HIIT, abs, push, and more). You can also keep a journal (the intended “mental well-being” aspect of the app), and the app is fully compatible with the Apple Watch. Is Alive by Whitney Simmons Worth Downloading? Whitney Simmons is not a licensed personal trainer, despite being a Gymshark athlete and having her fitness app. She is a fitness influencer who is well-known on social media platforms such as Instagram and YouTube. Having said that, Whitney thoroughly performs each workout in instructional videos, and both warm-up and cool-down videos can be added to your routine. The Alive app is simple, clean, and attractive. The settings menu is well-organized, and it’s simple to change notifications and workout settings. The price tag associated with the Alive subscriptions may appear a little hefty for an exercise program launched by a fitness influencer with no proven fitness credentials. Use the free trial to determine whether Alive is right for you. Alternatively, you can find reputable fitness content from certified trainers elsewhere online. Everdance Everdance is a dance workout app that pops up frequently on Instagram adverts. Let’s get right to the point: We didn’t have the finest time with this app. The first problem with Everdance is how it deals with its target audience. The Everdance website claims the app is “an easy way for every woman to get in touch with her body and mind,” However the app requires new users to choose from a limited number of “gender types.” Prefer not to say is not an option, but is this truly a required or suitable question given the website’s claims? There is also no option to skip entering your age or otherwise avoid the long questionnaire to simply start using the app. In terms of a user-friendly interface, Everdance isn’t off to a good start. A Personal Plan is produced for you after you complete the extensive questionnaire. However, as soon as you touch Continue, you’re taken to the subscription page, which has one obvious message: pay or you won’t be able to use it.   Is Everdance Worth Downloading? The lack of a free trial option, as well as the rather polarizing set-up of the app (which seems contrary to the welcoming Instagram ad), is off-putting.  Even Everdance’s demonstration video is set to private. This app’s usability and inclusivity could probably use some improvement. The thumbnails for the (locked) videos and workouts offered on the app were of low quality, which shattered any remaining trust in Everdance. But based on our testing, this app seems like it’s just an Instagram fad and not worth it. Feel free to remove its adverts from your Instagram feed.
