Tinnitus Myths

Whilst Tinnitus is more prevalent in older people, it is a myth that it cannot affect people of all ages.

It is incorrect to state that Tinnitus is a disease. It is a symptom of an underlying condition, such as ear injury, hearing loss, or impacted wax.

Whilst Tinnitus is more common in those who have hearing loss, anyone can be affected by it.

Whilst loud noises can trigger Tinnitus or hearing loss, they are not the only cause. Ear infections, trauma, or the normal ageing process are all factors that can cause Tinnitus.

There is no medication to cure Tinnitus, and in fact, some medications can make it worse.
