Planning an outdoor picnic
Spring and summer are popular seasons for enjoying picnics out in the sun. For some this is a way in which you can gather together with family and friends and all enjoy the outdoors and some delicious food as well. In order to get the most out of a picnic there are a number of things that you will want to plan.
- Where – the first thing to decide is where you are going to have your picnic. Is it going to be in your own garden, local park or perhaps you intend on travelling a little further afields for a day out.
- Weather – in the UK it is always advisable to plan for every weather. This could mean making sure that you take hats and sun tan lotion for the hot summer sun and also taking some Aran Sweaters, like the ones from Shamrock Gift so you have some comfy outerwear to pop on should the weather turn a little chilly.
- Food – of course the most important element of the picnic is the food and drink that you take with you. Depending on how many people are going to be enjoying the food with you, there are a number of ways that you can organise the food. You might like to make some platters of food and include all the picnic staples such as sausage rolls, pizza, pasta salads and sandwiches. Another way to ensure there is enough food is to get each person to bring something along with them and have a sharing picnic. Just make sure you agree who is going to bring what so you don’t end up with hundreds of sausage rolls!
