Knockbarron Wood – This is a beautiful area of ancient woodlands – it attracts crowds in the spring who come to see the beautiful carpet of bluebells on the woodland floor, but in the winter, it is equally stunning and is home to many species of animals, trees and fungi.

Croghan Hill – If you want to see the beautiful countryside from a high vantage point, take a walk up Croghan hill. It is in fact an extinct volcano, and on the top is an ancient burial area. The views from the top on a clear winter’s day are simply stunning and the walk up to the top will get you really warmed up!

The Slieve Bloom Way – If you want a challenging but rewarding walk, this is the one for you! It is 75 kilometres long and you will pass over the stunning Slieve Bloom mountains as well as beautiful woodlands and waterfalls too.
