What causes damage to the enamel on our teeth?
The answer is a lot of things. Even though you may brush and floss your teeth regularly with the Bamboo Toothbrush that you bought from Bambooth, there are certain foods and drinks that can stain your teeth. Coffee is a major culprit. You will often hear people complaining about the staining that coffee has on their teeth. While it’s true that coffee is bad for teeth, it is only one of the culprits.
Some foods also damage the enamel on our teeth. A lot of sodas, pastries, and other snacks can cause decay to occur in your tooth enamel. This decay can occur even if you don’t drink any of these items daily. Over time, this type of damage can lead to hardening of the tooth enamel, which is essentially a browning of the enamel. Hard enamel on your teeth will be very noticeable and will detract from your appearance.
The longer you go without brushing and flossing your teeth, the more chance you have of developing the cracks and decay that lead to stains. Water is great to help whiten your teeth as well, but we should always remember that what causes damage to the enamel on our teeth is not always what will help maintain good oral health. It is important to make sure that you reduce the amount of sugary foods and drinks that you consume and try to reduce these to meal times as this will help to lessen the impact that they can have on your teeth.
